5 Ways Parenting Makes You More Grateful

I have come to find that the connection between gratitude and parenting is more clear than I ever could have realized. I can honestly say that before having my daughter I didn't understand the true meaning of the word blessed.  Before her, I didn't realize how quickly time was passing me by. Before her, I took for granted so many things that I have in this world. Before her, I stressed a lot more about nonsense things that have no place for worry. And before her, I lived my life in a much more uptight and inauthentic way.

Kind Kids and Travel

Whenever I read anything regarding a connection between kids and travel, I'm hooked. This morning I ran across an article from the TODAY Parenting team. Want to Raise Kind Kids?  Travel With Them is what they say. It reinforced everything I'm trying to do with our travels with our daughter. It talked about the difference between a vacation and a trip - the article isn't referring to the all-out Disney vacations. It talks more about the power of a visit to one of our national parks, the perspective that changes while witnessing nature's majestic beauty and the ability to slow down and disconnect from life.
