Kind Kids and Travel

Kind Kids and TravelWhenever I read anything regarding a connection between kids and travel, I’m hooked. This morning I ran across an article from the TODAY Parenting team. Want to Raise Kind Kids?  Travel With Them is what they say.

It reinforced everything I’m trying to do with our travels with our daughter. It talked about the difference between a vacation and a trip – the article isn’t referring to the all-out Disney vacations. It talks more about the power of a visit to one of our national parks, the perspective that changes while witnessing nature’s majestic beauty and the ability to slow down and disconnect from life.

I hope that at age three, our daughter is already beginning to appreciate the beauty of the country that we live in, that she will begin realizing she is only a small part of it and that staring at the grandness of the Grand Canyon is one of the most awe-inspiring moments you can have in life.  I hope it does not only all of this, but makes her a kinder individual as she grows through life.

Maybe this idea will also inspire you to take that trip you’ve been contemplating!

Happy Travels to You!
