Well, hello world is right!  Welcome to tikeventures where I hope to inspire parents to give their children the world one experience at a time.

It’s no doubt that traveling is inspiring for adults, but when we get the chance to witness it through the young eyes of our children, it’s even more so.  This blog is where I plan to share stories of our travels together, tips that I’ve learned along the way, and the memories that I’ll hang on to forever.

A little backstory…..

I myself was fortunate to grow up with the love of travel. It’s one of the things I’m most grateful to my parents for.  My sister and I grew up camping out west in national parks like the Tetons, Glacier, Yellowstone and the Badlands.  We took warm and sunny vacations to Florida, visited family in Georgia, Pennsylvania and New York City.  It was because of this that I continued to pursue travel on own as I became an adult.

In college I studied abroad in Scotland which opened up my eyes to entirely new experiences. Afterwards I had a bad case of the travel bug and couldn’t stop searching for future opportunities to live abroad again.  I just had to travel more.  After searching day in and day out, I landed an internship in Sweden and moved there after college for what was just shy of six months.

Traveling is where I have felt most like myself.  It’s a passion of mine. I love talking about travel. I love planning for travel. And I love the excitement of heading to the airport to see a new sight.  It’s important to me to provide these same experiences to my kids.

So welcome to tikeventures. I hope you’ll stay for awhile. But more than that, I hope my story can inspire you to create your own travel stories.  Whether near or far, share the world with your children and see it through their eyes.  Because life is to short to sit back and just read one page.
