We were blessed to welcome our new little tike into the world just ten days ago. Big sister couldn’t love him more. And as one of my favorite children’s books states, “God gave us you and now he gave us two.”
There was a time in my life when I wasn’t sure I ever wanted to be a mom. Then our daughter came along and I never loved anything more. And after that, there was then a time when I thought we were perfectly happy as a family of three. But now our little man has come along and I’m so thankful for our new family of four. He’s perfect and completes us in a way I didn’t realize was possible.
Our son joined us on a Sunday morning after what seemed to be such a long wait. He was four days late, but oh so worth it. That Saturday night I put our daughter to bed and after she fell asleep I found myself laying there with her while she slept peacefully. I just watched her sleep as I sometimes do counting my lucky stars for her and her soon to be brother. Little did I know that 15 minutes later when I got up to go relax with my big bowl of fresh pineapple my water would break (so yes, pineapple really does help induce labor like they say in my experience!). Luckily, a good friend came over to stay with her and off to the hospital we went to welcome our new little guy.
My labor went well and after two pushes, there he was, a perfectly healthy 7 lb 15 oz baby boy. They placed him on my chest and that was it – this little guy had stolen my heart. He snuggled in, started nursing, and I was in love.
I’m so excited to start this journey as a family of four. I have no intention of leaving my love of travel behind either! From this point forward, our tikeventures will now include two kiddos instead of one. Wish us luck 🙂
Welcome to the world, little man! We love you and are so thankful to have you in our lives. Let’s start some tikeventures!
